Life Story: I was born and raised in southern Ohio, the eldest of four. I went to the University of Rochester, where I majored in American Sign Language and minored in music. After brief stints in Ohio as a bartender and Boston as a teacher's assistant, I found my way to Albany and the Book House. What else can I say...I'm home.

What types of books do you enjoy reading, or what makes you love a book?
Fiction and memoir are my top choices, though I enjoy other non-fiction if it is well written. I love books that pull me into their worlds and make me really care about the characters. I also love unique or especially beautiful writing styles and intriguing narrators.

Five must-have books for a desert island:
1. The Gift by Hafiz (translated by Daniel Ladinsky)
2. The Book Thief by Mark Zusak
3. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
4. The Complete Works of Edith Wharton
5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

When not reading, I am knitting, cooking, hiking, selling books, and/or wishing I was reading.
